VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton golfer
Jackson Vesper was named a Prime Performer for the month of October by the NEC, the league announced Thursday.
This is the first time Vesper has received an award from the NEC. At Binghamton's home tournament, the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, the senior tied for 17th by shooting 74-76 = 150/6-over par. It is the second time that Vesper finished in the top 20 in a collegiate tournament, after he previously tied for fifth at the 2025 Alex Lagowitz Memorial. Vesper also tied for ninth in Binghamton's tri-match against Colgate and Le Moyne earlier this fall, the Central New York Challenge Cup. Vesper ultimately closed out the fall season by tying for 45th out of 108 golfers at the Bucknell Invitational with a final score of 67-74 = 143/3-over par.
Vesper is the third different Binghamton golfer to be named a Prime Performer by the NEC this season. Both
Enzo Allain and
Alex Patel were chosen as prime performers by the league for the month of September. In total, Binghamton has had 15 NEC Prime Performer selections since joining the league before the start of the 2023-24 season.
Binghamton is currently preparing for its spring season. The Bearcats' schedule will be announced at a later date.
Matthews Auto is the presenting sponsor of Bearcats Golf.
