Second-place Bearcats begin two-game homestand with 6:07 tip at Events Center

VESTAL, N.Y. - With playoff seeding at stake, Binghamton women's basketball opens a two-game homestand Thursday when the Bearcats (17-8, 9-3 America East) host Bryant (17-9, 7-6 AE) at the Events Center. Tip-off is set for 6:07 p.m. at Dr. Bai Lee Court. The game between the pair of 17-win teams will be broadcast on MSGSN and ESPN+.

The Bearcats sit in second place in the standings - one game behind Vermont - with four games remaining in the regular season. Binghamton can clinch a top-4 playoff spot and guarantee a home quarterfinal game with its next victory.

After rattling off nine wins in a 10-game stretch, the Bearcats have dropped two straight - both on the road. After Thursday, Binghamton will close out its regular season home slate with a Saturday afternoon matchup with UMass Lowell.

Junior guard Bella Pucci leads the team and ranks sixth in the America East with a 15.0 scoring average. Junior forward Kendall Bennett is averaging 14.5 points and a team-best 9.7 rebounds. Bennett has a school-record 12 double-doubles.

Bryant is in a tie for fifth place in the conference and has won three of its last five games. The Bulldogs have allowed opponents just 54 points on average this season, second-best in the America East.

Three weeks ago in Rhode Island, the Bearcats rallied from 20 points down in the second half to stun the host Bulldogs 66-64 in overtime. It was the largest comeback in program history. Binghamton leads the all-time series 7-5.
