VESTAL, N.Y. - For the first time in program history, the Binghamton men's lacrosse team (0-4) will be taking on Mercyhurst (1-4) at the Bearcats Sports Complex Friday at 3 p.m.
Fans attending the contest are invited to take part in a game of Black Sheep Tavern Bingo. Faculty and staff at Binghamton will also be celebrated as part of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. Admission to all Binghamton men's lacrosse home games this season is free on behalf of Station 45 American Chop House.

Binghamton resumes its pursuit of its first win of the season after falling to Marist 9–6 last Saturday. The Bearcats had four different players score a goal against the Red Foxes, with Ryan Meyers and Andrew Girolamo each recording two. Will Feldmann and Tyler Martini added one goal apiece.

Connor Winters has helped the Bearcats' defense through the opening stretch of the season. He enters Friday's game against Mercyhurst leading the America East in total saves (59), saves per game (14.75), and save percentage (.578). Winters has recorded at least 13 saves in each of his four starts this season, coming off of a season-high 17 against Marist.

Meyers delivered a breakout performance against Marist, scoring a career-high two goals for the Bearcats. The sophomore found the net late in the third quarter to help spark a Binghamton push, and then opened the fourth with his second tally of the afternoon. Meyers also added two ground balls in the contest.

Matthew Rincon has been active in the Bearcats' midfield. The senior is tied with Nolan Sharkey for the team lead with five caused turnovers, while ranking second with 14 ground balls. He has also contributed on offense by scoring a goal.

The Lakers have opened the season with a 1-4 record, earning a 10-8 win over Canisius while dropping tight contests to UMass Lowell (14-13 in double overtime), Queens (14-11), and Bellarmine (17-9).

Colin Tardif and Mason Blakeman have emerged as key offensive leaders. Blakeman recorded three goals in the win over Canisius and added a hat trick against Bellarmine. Tardif, meanwhile, posted four goals against Queens. Matthew Belles delivered a five-point performance (2 G, 3 A) against Queens, and Chase Petschke tallied four goals and an assist in the overtime battle with UMass Lowell.

In goal, Tyler Moritzen had a 12-save performance in the victory over Canisius. He has also collected 11 ground balls so far this season, including four against Bellarmine.
