Women's basketball wraps up final regular season contest in Maine

Bearcats looking to earn No. 2 seed for AE tournament

VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton women's basketball (18-10, 10-5 AE) wraps up their regular season against Maine (16-12, 11-4 AE) on Saturday. The winner of Saturday's game will lock up a top-2 seed for the upcoming America East Air Force Reserve Women's Basketball Playoffs.

LAST TIME OUT
Binghamton fell to New Hampshire (9-19, 3-12 AE) 67-48 Thursday night at Lundholm Gymnasium. The Wildcats, who desperately needed a win to stay in America East playoff contention, scored their highest point total in conference play this season on 61% shooting with seven threes and 80% from the free throw line.

BATTLE FOR THE NO. 2 SEED
Saturday's matchup in Orono, Me. between the Bearcats and the Black Bears will decide who is the No. 2 seed for the AE playoffs. The losing side will claim hold of No. 3 seed for the tournament. Binghamton have only been the No. 2 seed once in program history, which came back in 2004 when the team finished a program best 12-6 in league play.

OFFENSE LOOKING FOR 60
In conference play this season, The Bearcats are 9-1 when reaching the 60-point mark, showing that reaching this offensive threshold has been a strong indicator of success for the team with the efficiency and pace of play the Bearcats bring. Binghamton is 1-4 when scoring less than 60 points in league play.

THE COMEBACK CATS
Binghamton has proven no matter the score, they are never out of any game. The Bearcats have comeback and won seven games this year when trailing by double-digits at one point in the game. Their biggest deficit was 20-points (35-15) with 6:27 left to play in the third quarter against Bryant. Binghamton would go on to win 66-64 in OT.

STRONG ON SATURDAY'S
Binghamton is 8-2 when playing on Saturday this season. The Bearcats are averaging 67.9 points per game while only allowing 57.4 points per game to their opponents on Saturday.

BENNETT AND SMITH ATOP OF LEAGUE IN REBOUNDS
In conference play, Kendall Bennett and Adrianna Smith are at the top of the list for rebounds by a wide margin. Bennett averages the rebounds per game with 11.3 (169 total) and most offensive boards per game at 3.9. Smith sits second with 10.1 (152) rebounds per game and leads with 7.7 defensive boards per game. The next closet to Bennett and Smith averages 8.3 (125 total) per game.
