WEST POINT, N.Y. – Binghamton men's tennis (2-3) faced off against Fairfield and Army at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center on Sunday.
"Its good for our guys to figure out early in the season how to get four-singles wins without the doubles points," head coach
Nick Zieziula stated. "Its tough when you play doubleheaders but we had five, three setters and the guys didn't go away so I'm proud of the guys for battling back and figuring that out today."
Binghamton 4, Fairfield 2
Fairfield claimed the lone point in doubles after winning in doubles matches two and three.
Binghamton's top three in singles action each earned a point for the squad on Saturday.
Ronin Lotlikar won as the top single player for Binghamton, winning 6-3 and 7-5.
Filipe Costa cruised to a victory with a 6-2, 6-3 match.
Harry Liao won his first set 6-3 but would be challenged in his second set by going to a tiebreaker round. Liao would go on to win the tiebreaker 7-1 to clinch the set 7-6.
Freshman
Giannis Sakkas won his first set with ease 6-1 and had to do some work in his second set but ultimately found the victory 7-5.

Shortly after defeating Fairfield, the Bearcats went against undefeated host institution Army (6-0).
Lotlikar and Liao battled as the top pair for Binghamton going a respective 5-5 against Army's top pair, but would not finish the action packed dual as Army claimed the doubles point from matches two and three.
Lotlikar did find success in singles action, as he beat Jackson Armistead, who did not play in doubles action, 6-2, 4-6 6-4 in grab Binghamton's lone point against the Black Knights.
"He's really locked in right now," coach Zieziula said about the senior. "He's having a great start to his senior spring season and I'm really proud of his effort today."
