Men's tennis dropped by Buffalo

Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – Men's tennis (2-4) fell to Buffalo (5-3) 7-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats made a valiant effort in doubles play, but fell short to Bulls, who took a two of the required three sets to earn the doubles point.

In singles play Filipe Costa battled in a tough three set match. He lost the first round 6-2 but came back to win 6-3 to force a third set. In that set, he would not go down without a fight but came up short, losing 10-7 in an intense final set.

Reigning Northeast Conference Player of the Week Ronin Lotlikar also fought hard in a three-set dual, but would fall 6-4, 0-6, 1-6.

A strong UB team has the Bearcats ready to battle in their first NEC match of the season, when the team takes on Stonehill on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Lane – Starke Tennis Center.
