About Binghamton
  • Binghamton opened America East Conference play with a 16-9 win against UMass Lowell on March 14 at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
  • Andrew Girolamo nearly had a record-breaking performance against the River Hawks, as the junior attack scored a career-high seven goals in the win. His seven goals were one shy of tying the Binghamton program record for goals scored in a game by one player. That record belongs to Jeff Rurey, who scored eight against Lehigh on March 30, 2010. Additionally, Girolamo's seven goals are the most scored by a Binghamton player in a game since April 1, 2023, when Matthew Keegan recorded seven of his own in Binghamton's 21-10 against UMass Lowell. On the other side of the field, Girolamo caused a career-high two turnovers and collected two ground balls against UMass Lowell. He went on to be named Offensive Player of the Week by the America East on Monday, and then was selected to the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (USILA) Division I Team of the Week on Tuesday. After that performance, Girolamo now leads the America East in goals per game at 2.86.
  • Connor Winters is the only goalie in the country to be ranked in the top five nationally in both saves per game (first at 14.71) and save percentage (third at .606. The netminder stopped another 16 shots and collected a season-high four ground balls against UMass Lowell last Saturday. With those 16 saves, Winters extended his streak of games where he has made at least 10 saves to nine dating back to last season.
  • Aidan McMinn tied his career high in caused turnovers with three against UML. The sophomore previously set that mark against St. Bonaventure on Feb. 14. McMinn has averaged one caused turnover per game so far this season.
  • Frequently going against one of the top faceoff experts in the country in UML's Justin Alexander, Flynn Wilson held his own for the Bearcats by winning 10 faceoff attempts while collecting a team-high six ground balls.

About NJIT
  • Saturday's game is the first the Highlanders will play against an America East opponent this season. NJIT began the year with wins against Hampton (22-8) and St. John's (17-10. After three losses in a row to Lafayette (19-9), UMass (18-14) and Sacred Heart (14-12), the Highlanders bounced back with a 9-5 victory over Monmouth on March 3. NJIT goes into Saturday's contest on a two-game losing streak, having lost to Wagner (14-12) and Jacksonville (9-6).
  • Freshmen Will Corry and Blake Piscitiello have both had a breakout season for the Highlanders. Piscitiello has already posted 21 goals and 15 assists in eight games. He ranks second in the America East in points per game at 4.50. Corry is also tied with Piscitiello for the team lead in goals scored with 21, while adding four assists.
  • Goalie Cameron Kurdyla ranks second in the America East in saves per game at 14.00, just behind Winters. He has made at least 11 saves in each of his eight appearances in goal this year.
