Mia Forte was the overtime hero for the Bearcats, scoring the game-winning goal in overtime to secure Binghamton women's lacrosse's (4-6, 1-1) first conference victory of the season over New Hampshire (4-6, 0-2) 12-11 on Saturday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Six different Bearcats scored in a high-stakes thriller.
"I'm so happy we were able to come out on top. It was a whole team effort," said Forte. "It feels good to know that my teammates trusted me in that moment."
Prior to her overtime goal, Forte found her first goal of the game to even the scoreboard at 11 apiece, eventually forcing overtime.

Carla Curth tallied four goals in Saturday's game to secure her third four-goal performance of the year.

Maeve Sayre tallied six saves between the pipes en route to a victory in her first start of the season.
The Bearcats opened the scoring early in the first quarter with a goal from Bort. New Hampshire responded with a goal of their own. Moments later, goals from Curth and Boyle would give the Bearcats the edge, 3-1, with under five minutes remaining in the period. The Wildcats found the back of the net seconds later, cutting their deficit to one score. Curth's second goal of the game gave Binghamton a 4-2 lead heading into the second quarter.
New Hampshire kicked off the second period with a goal, cutting into the Bearcats' lead. Curth soon responded with her third goal of the game, securing her 10th career hat trick while making it a 5-3 game in favor of Binghamton.
The Wildcats scored once more at the 7:42 mark, moments before Boyle and Curth found their second and fourth goals of the game, giving Binghamton a 7-4 advantage. The Wildcats' offense caught fire, scoring three unanswered goals in the final three minutes of the first half, tying the score at 7-7.
Coming out of intermission, New Hampshire continued their offensive run by scoring the first two goals of the third quarter, giving them their largest lead of the game at 9-7 with 11:16 on the clock.
Binghamton responded soon after, netting three unanswered goals off the sticks of Blloshmi, Bort, and Kaufer to reclaim the lead with 6:37 remaining. New Hampshire would go on to answer with a goal to tie things up at 10-10 heading into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter proved to be calm for both offenses, but ultimately the Bearcats came out on top with Forte's late efforts to secure the big overtime victory.
The Bearcats will travel to Albany on Saturday, March 28 for a conference matchup at noon.
