Softball hosts St. Bonaventure in DH

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (10-20) lost two out of three games at Bryant this past weekend in a battle for first place in the America East. Freshman designated player Lauren Payne hit a team-best .545 in the series (5-for-9) and tied a program record with three doubles on Sunday. Sophomore third baseman Rachel Carey, meanwhile, was 5-for-11 (.455) against the Bulldogs.

- Carey continues to lead the America East and is ranked eighth in the nation with a .490 batting average. Graduate student outfielder Darien McDonough is fourth in the conference with a .381 batting average and is No. 10 in the nation with 0.40 doubles per game.

- As a team, Binghamton ranks fifth in the nation with 2.00 doubles per game. 

- With a 99-51 record since moving into the Bearcats Sports Complex in 2013, Binghamton is closing in on its 100th win on its current home field. During the past 13 years, the Bearcats have won two America East championships (2015 and 2025), four regular-season conference titles (2016, 2017, 2024 and 2025) and have hosted the America East Tournament on their home field six times (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2025).

- St. Bonaventure (6-35) lost two out of three games to Dayton in an Atlantic-10 conference series this weekend. Sydney DeGram leads the Bonnies with a .313 batting average so far this season.

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against St. Bonaventure 10-4, having won the past seven meetings. Most recently, the Bearcats swept a 9-1, 10-1 doubleheader back on April 9, 2024.
