VESTAL, N.Y. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has released its 2026 Softball Academic All-District Teams and five Bearcat players are included. Senior pitcher Olivia Kennedy was chosen for the third straight season and senior first baseman Emma Lawson was honored for the second straight year. Redshirt junior infielder Akira Kopec, junior outfielder Maddy Dodig and junior pitcher Delaney Glover, meanwhile, were each recognized for the first time in their careers.  

Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Binghamton being located in District 1. In order to earn Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have played in at least 80 percent of their team's games during the current season (or have started in 67 percent of those games), have been at their current institution for at least a calendar year, have attained sophomore status athletically and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

All five players were standouts this season for Binghamton, which captured its second straight America East championship and earned a bid to the Norman Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

Binghamton has now posted 20 CSC Academic All-District softball selections since 2023.
