Bearcats complete roster for upcoming season

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton men's soccer team has announced the addition of forwards Jan Gumà (Barcelona, Spain) and Alex Lorenz (Wyckoff, N.J.). In the process, the Bearcats have finalized their roster for the 2026 campaign.

Gumà is an incoming freshman from Atletic Saint Just. He was the leading goal scorer in the Division of Honor. Guma has over 20 caps for the Andorran U17-U21 National teams.

"Jan is a proven goal scorer who has played at a high level," interim head coach Tommy Moon said. "He has the ability to stretch defenses, create opportunities and finish in key moments. Just as importantly, he embraces the competitive mindset and team-first culture we're building."

Lorenz, also arrives as an incoming freshman. He was the top goal scorer on his MLS Next Mid-Atlantic U17 team and helped lead his squad to the MLS Next Cup twice (U16 and U19). In addition, Lorenz spent a semester in Germany after high school and was the top goal scorer on his Nike Youth Cup Berlin U19 team.

"Alex is a classic number 9," Moon said. "He is a target forward who you can play into and he brings other players into the game. He is also clinical in the box and can finish the ball in multiple ways. We're excited to see how his qualities complement the players already on our squad."

The Bearcats report back to campus for preseason on Aug. 4 and open up their season at Mt. St. Mary's (Md.) on Aug. 20.
