VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (3-0-1) played visiting Siena (3-1-1) to a scoreless draw Thursday night at Bearcats Sports Complex. In the process, the team extended its regular-season unbeaten streak to 17 games dating back to last summer (11-0-6). The shutout was Binghamton's fourth straight to start the season, which is believed to be both a program and America East record.

Senior keeper Rebecca Kessler stopped a Siena penalty kick in the 60th minute, the Bearcats produced 12 corner kicks (for the second straight game) and controlled 57% of possession before settling for the draw. 

Binghamton held a narrow 8-7 shots advantage, with its best chance coming late in the first half. Senior forward Paige Luke executed a give-and-go with freshman forward Taylor Gabel with Gabel springing Luke on goal with a thru ball past two Saints defenders. But Luke's shot was blocked by the charging Siena keeper. 

Siena congested the middle of the field and dropped back on defense all night - a strategy that produced 1-0 wins over fellow America East programs New Hampshire, UAlbany and Bryant to start 2026. 

"We knew Siena would be a good side ... a defensive side that would be tough to crack," head coach Neel Bhattacharjee said. "In the second half we were much better in our spacing and had decent control, especially by the 65th minute. But it was one of those nights we didn't quite get the finish, whether on a set piece on all our corner kicks or on that final pass. It was nice to get the shutout and Rebecca (Kessler) came up big with the PK save, so we will take the tie for now and rest up for Sunday's game at Buffalo."

The Bearcats begin a daunting three-game stretch with the game at regional power Buffalo, followed by a home contest vs. ACC member Syracuse next Thursday and a road game at Big Ten foe Maryland after that.
