Allain, Patel just outside of top 10 at Alex Lagowitz Memorial

Alex Patel tied for 11th, Enzo Allain tied for 14th after first two rounds of season-opening tournament

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton golf team has two of its golfers just outside of the top 10 after completing the first two rounds of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Saturday at Seven Oaks Golf Club.
 
Sophomore Alex Patel is tied for 11th out of 84 golfers at 70-72 = 142/2-under par, while freshman Enzo Allain is tied for 14th at 73-70 =143/1-under par. Patel is four shots back of the lead.
 
Patel picked up at least a par or better on 17 of the 18 holes in the opening round, recording three birdies in the process. He then added another two birdies in the second round.
 
Allain, who is making his collegiate debut this weekend, put up two birdies in his opening round. Then, he followed that up with five in the second round, including three over a span of four holes.
 
Overall, Binghamton is in 10th place as a team at 291-297 = 588/12-over par. Seton Hall leads the field at 278-286 = 564/12-under par.
 
The final round begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., on Sunday.
