Among his accolades were being selected as Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team USILA All-American. Grill led the Terps in caused turnovers (19) and was tied for third in ground balls (43). He was a first team All-Big Ten selection and was named to the Big Ten and NCAA All-Tournament Teams. At Marquette, Grill was a three-time All-BIG EAST choice.

A native of Bridgewater, N.J., Grill graduated with a degree in sociology in 2021.

"For me, Nick was a no brainer!" head coach Kevin McKeown said. "He has not only been a top player in the country the past few seasons, but also comes very highly recommended as a person and coach. To have Nick here to mentor our defensive players will be huge for our development this year as a defensive unit."
