Tyler Perrelle joined the Binghamton men's lacrosse staff in September 2021 and begins his third season on the staff in 2024. A former Bearcat captain, Perrelle came from Marist, where he had served as an assistant on the Red Foxes staff since 2019.
He played a key role in a nine-win 2023 campaign that ended with another postseason appearance. Perrelle also has helped develop two All-Americans in Thomas Greenblatt and Kevin Winkoff.
Perrelle graduated from Binghamton in 2013 with a degree in human development after a record-setting career that included three seasons of tutelage under McKeown. He tallied a school-record 55 career assists and his 110 career points from the midfield ranks second all-time at Binghamton. Perrelle was an America East All-Rookie (2010) and All-Championship (2011) selection and was team MVP in 2012. He was on the 2013 Preseason Tewaaraton Award Watchlist and played in 56 career games, fourth-most in program history.
He made his coaching debut at Marywood University, where he served as head coach for four years. There, Perrelle led the Pacers to a pair of conference runnerup finishes and a trip to the ECAC semifinals in 2015. Marywood had a conference win percentage of 71 percent during his tenure - highest in the history of the Colonial States Athletics Conference. Perrelle then spent two years as an assistant at Division II University of Tampa, where he coached five All-Americans, a conference player of the year and seven all-conference players. IN 2019, Tampa won its sixth straight Sunshine State Conference title, advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals and earned a No. 8 national ranking. He coached the team's offense, which produced 309 goals (14.7/game), third-most in the nation. At Marist, Perrelle helped guide the Red Foxes through two COVID-affected seasons. In the shortened 2020 season, two of the team's wins came against America East squads and the other was a win over ninth-ranked Army - the highest-ranked team Marist has beaten in program history. The 2021 Marist squad went 3-1 in an abbreviated season and reached the MAAC quarterfinals.
"It was a no brainer to bring back Tyler to the Binghamton Lacrosse program," McKeown said at the time of his hire. "He is one of the most decorated players in program history and is very motivated to achieve success here as a coach. Tyler will bring some great ideas on the offensive side, where we return nearly every player from last season."
