Chris Weathers Headshot 2025

Chris Weathers

Binghamton Volleyball added Assistant Coach Chris Weathers to its staff in June 2025.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Christopher Weathers to our coaching staff at Binghamton University,” Head Coach Allie Yaeger said. “Having previously worked together at Seton Hall University, where he served as my assistant coach, I know firsthand his deep volleyball expertise and dedication to player development.”

Weathers brings a wealth of experience to Vestal from Seton Hall, where he served as Yaeger’s assistant coach from 2018 to 2022. His coaching journey began as an undergraduate at Seton Hall, where he acted as the Pirates volunteer manager from 2010 to 2013.

“I’m beyond excited to get back in the gym with Coach Allie and be part of the continued success and program rebuild she’s led over the past few seasons,” Weathers said.

After his graduation from Seton Hall, Weathers served as a graduate assistant coach at Elmira and Southwestern, assisting with daily operations, practice implementation and recruiting.

“Returning to the Southern Tier and rejoining Coach Allie—someone who has played a major role in my coaching journey—is something I’m truly grateful for,” he added. “She’s built a strong, competitive culture here at Binghamton, and I can’t wait to contribute to the next chapter of her distinguished program.

Weathers returned to the Pirates program as an assistant coach in 2018, focusing primarily on defense. During his time in South Orange, Weathers guided six-rotation outside hitters Abby Thelen and Tsvetelina Ilieva to All-Big East First Team distinctions in 2018 and 2020, respectively.

Weathers worked as a Human Resources Coordinator, Building Superintendent and Office Manager in New Jersey during his brief break from coaching.

“Stepping away from coaching and spending time in the corporate world gave me a new perspective, but it also reminded me just how much I missed the energy and purpose that come with being in the gym and around student-athletes,” Weathers stated.

With the addition of Weathers, Binghamton strengthens its coaching staff in pursuit of an America East Championship. His defensive expertise and familiarity with Yaeger's coaching philosophy are expected to have an undeniable impact on the team's performance in the upcoming season.

“Chris’s familiarity with our program, combined with his passion for mentoring student-athletes, makes him an invaluable addition,” Yaeger added. “I’m confident he will help elevate our team and contribute to our continued success in the America East and beyond.”

A native of Brockton, Mass., Weathers graduated from Seton Hall in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Social and Behavioral Science. He also received a Master of Business Administration from Southwestern in 2016.
