Trappe leads the Bearcats with five goals and 11 total points so far this season. Galluzzo, meanwhile, has three goals.
SCOUTING STONY BROOKStony Brook (7-7-3) is the No. 4 seed in the America East Tournament. Freshman midfielder Serge Gamwayna, who scored against the Bearcats last week, is the America East Rookie of the Year. He was also named second-team all-conference along with forwards Martin Giordano and Vince Erdei.
Erdei leads the Seawolves and is second in the America East with eight goals, 20 total points and four game-winning goals. Giordano, who has now been named second-team all-conference three times, has seven goals and 17 total points.
NEXT STOPThe winner of the Binghamton-Stony Brook game heads to No. 1 Albany on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. semifinal game.
AMERICA EAST TOURNAMENT HISTORYThis marks the fourth meeting between the Bearcats and Seawolves in the America East Tournament.
Stony Brook won the decisive shootout in the 2005 finals after the two squads played to a 1-1 tie. In the 2012 quarterfinals, the Seawolves rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half to win 5-4 in overtime.
Binghamton, however, won the decisive shootout in last year's first round game after the two squads played to a 1-1 tie.
Robert Moewes made three saves in the penalty kick shootout.
