Women's basketball hosts Stony Brook on Senior Day

Bearcats and Seawolves tip off Thursday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (4-23, 2-12 AE) lost 70-56 to visiting Maine last Saturday. Freshman point guard Jasmine Sina led all scorers with 18 points while fellow rookie guard Imani Watkins added 13 points, four rebounds and six steals. Senior forward Sharae Swinson finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds to record her seond straight double-double. 

- For the season, freshman point guard Jasmine Sina leads the Bearcats with 14.9 points per game, which is fifth in the America East. Fellow rookie guard Imani Watkins is second on the squad and ninth in the conference with 13.6 points per contest. Senior forward Sherae Swinson is fifth in the America East with 7.3 rebounds per game.

- Stony Brook (16-11, 9-5 AE) defeated Albany 68-64 last Sunday afternoon. Senior forward Sabre Proctor netted 21 points on 7-9 shooting while junior forward Brittany Snow added 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

-  For the season, Proctor ranks fourth in the America East with 15.2 points per game. Senior guard Jessica Ogunnorin is third in the conference with 7.5 rebounds a game. As a team, Stony Brook is second in the conference in three-point field goal defense (.290).

- Binghamton leads the all-time series 20-15 but has lost the past three meetings. Earlier in the season, Stony Brook won  67-54 at home on Jan. 25.  Sina, Watkins and junior guard Kim Albrecht had 11 points each. Binghamton's last win in the series came on Feb. 1, 2012 in a 55-46 win at the Events Center.

- The freshman duo of guards Jasmine Sina and Imani Watkins have combined for eight America East Rookie of the Week honors so far this season. Sina was the pick on Dec. 1, Dec. 29, Jan. 5, Feb. 2 and Feb. 9 while Watkins was selected on Nov. 17, Nov. 24 and Dec. 22.
