KALAMAZOO, Mich. - For the second time in three days, Binghamton men's tennis (2-2, 0-2 MAC) played a tight match against a new conference foe but came up short in a 4-3 defeat - this time against Western Michigan (5-3, 1-0 MAC) Sunday afternoon at the West Hills Athletic Club.
The Broncos captured the pivotal doubles point before the teams split the six singles matches.
The Bearcats earned wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Junior
Eliott Hureau made it two in a row agianst MAC opponents with his straight-set win at No. 3. Senior
Ismael Dinia dropped the first set in his match at fourth singles before storming back to win. Sophomore No. 5
Thomas Caputo earned a 6-2, 6-4 win for BU's other point.'
But the hosts took the opening point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and then clinched the win with a three-set victory at No. 2 singles.Â
Binghamton next plays at VCU on February 13.
