NEWARK, Del.- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team won, 11-7, at Delaware Sunday afternoon.
Tucker Nelson set a career high with seven points and tied a program record with six assists.
Paul O'Donnell matched his career high with five goals and
Tanner Cosens tallied a career-high 13 saves to lead the Bearcats to a non-conference victory at Delaware Stadium.

BU held a 5-4 halftime lead and then put together an outstanding third quarter. O'Donnell scored 54 seconds in to stretch the Bearcat lead. After a UD goal,
Dan Mazurek won the ensuing faceoff and sprinted in, finding O'Donnell on the right side, where the senior finished to make it 7-5 with 6:28 to play in the period. Nelson later set up
Sean Gilroy for a goal and then Nelson assisted on a
J.T. Hauck score with eight seconds remaining in the third. Binghamton was able to maintain its margin in the fourth, coming away with a road win.

In the first quarter, Delaware scored the first two goals, but Binghamton rallied. On a man-up opportunity, the Bearcats cashed in, as Hauck found
Dallas Smith for a goal at the 5:45 mark. A few minutes later, Nelson hit Hauck for a tying score with 2:14 remaining in the frame.

BU took a 3-2 edge in the second period, as Nelson assisted on a
Tyler Deluca goal with 11:29 showing on the clock. After a Blue Hen goal, O'Donnell found the back of the net with 8:31 to play in the half. Nelson posted his third assist of the day as Binghamton grabbed a 5-3 advantage. Cosens made several key stops in the quarter, totaling eight in the first half.

Ahead by four, BU allowed two early Delaware goals in the fourth, but answered to close out the decision. O'Donnell finished a Nelson assist with 7:42 left and then O'Donnell sealed the match with a goal at the 4:44 mark.

Nelson totaled a goal and six assists, while O'Donnell scored five times. Nelson matched the school's assist record, as Stephen Smith dished out six assists against Hartford on April 16, 2005. Nelson, a senior, has now scored in 31 straight games, the 14th-longest active streak in Division I. Hauck put up two goals and an assist and Deluca added a goal and a helper. Cosens made 13 saves in his first start of the season.
