VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team hosts #8/9 Albany on Saturday, April 11. The America East match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. faceoff at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Binghamton is 2-1 in conference action after winning, 14-6, at UMass Lowell on April 4. Seniors
J.T. Hauck,
Paul O'Donnell, and
Tucker Nelson combined for 12 points in the victory. Hauck recorded a career-high six points on three goals and three assists, while O'Donnell scored four times and Nelson tallied four assists.
Dan Mazurek won 16-17 faceoffs and
Tanner Cosens made eight saves in net for BU.
Albany is 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the league. It won, 20-10, at Vermont last weekend. Lyle Thompson led with two goals and six assists. The senior has scored 347 career points, seven short of the NCAA Division I all-time record, currently held by Cornell's Rob Pannell.
Nelson paces the Bearcat offense with 28 points, including 19 assists. The native of Vestal, N.Y., is the school's career assists leader with 74. O'Donnell leads BU in goals with 17, while Hauck has 15, including eight in his last two outings. Mazurek has collected a team-high 37 groundballs and
Joe Grossi has caused eight turnovers. Cosens has started the last six contests in goal and has recorded an 8.39 goals against average and a .551 save percentage. Both numbers lead the America East this season.
Albany leads the country in goals per game with 17.90, as Thompson is the nation's top scorer with 68 points on 29 goals and 39 assists. Connor Fields has scored 35 goals and Seth Oakes has added 26 on the year. Connor Russell has picked up a team-high 57 groundballs and Blaze Riorden is allowing 10.74 goals per game. He has a .541 save percentage in 10 starts this season.
