Men's Lacrosse Travels to #20/16 Stony Brook for Road Finale Sunday

VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team will make the trip to Long Island to face #20/16 Stony Brook on Sunday, April 19. Faceoff for the America East match is set for 1 p.m. at LaValle Stadium.

Binghamton won, 11-9, at Canisius on April 14. Sean Gilroy, Paul O'Donnell, and Zach Scaduto each scored twice, while Tucker Nelson dished out four assists. Austin Macchi won 16-24 faceoffs and Tanner Cosens tallied six saves in goal for BU. An 8-2 run during the middle quarters allowed the Bearcats to pull away for their fourth road win of the season.

Stony Brook is coming off a 17-11 loss to #6/6 Duke on April 15. The Seawolves grabbed an early 3-2 lead, but the Blue Devils reeled off eight consecutive goals to take control of the game. Mike Rooney led Stony Brook with three goals and a pair of assists.

Cosens has been stellar in net, making the last eight starts for BU. He leads the America East with a 9.26 goals against average, which ranks 25th nationally. Nelson paces Binghamton with 33 points this season, including 24 assists. The senior set the program record (79) for career assists earlier this year and also holds the BU single-season mark (28). O'Donnell has a team-leading 21 goals, while J.T. Hauck has 17 goals and Gilroy has scored 16 on the year. George Deignan leads the team with nine caused turnovers.

Rooney has recorded 82 points this season, ranking third in the country. His 3.29 assists per game stand second nationally. Brody Eastwood has scored 53 goals, which is the second-most in Division I this year. Eastwood's nine man-up goals are the fourth-most in 2015.

Last season, Binghamton beat Stony Brook, 14-11, at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Tyler Deluca posted two goals and two assists and Mitchell Rick put up a goal and two helpers.
