ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell netted the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute and kept Binghamton women's soccer off the scoreboard in a 1-0 decision Sunday afternoon at Berman Field. Cornell (6-0-2) hasn't allowed a goal this season.
The Bearcats (1-7-1) were outshot 16-4 and surrendered the game's lone goal after a corner kick. The Big Red moved the ball back to the left side of the box where Elizabeth Crowell dribbled laterally and sent a 20-yard shot inside the far post.Â
Sophomore keeper
Katie Hatziyianis made eight saves two days after recording a career-high 11 saves at FDU.Â
Binghamton now readies for its America East opener next Sunday at New Hampshire. The game is a rematch of the 2014 tournament quarterfinal encounter in Durham, when the Wildcats advanced on penalty kicks en route to the conference championship.Â
