VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton wrestling team hosts #27 Princeton on Friday, January 8, in its 2015-16 home opener. The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) match is set for a 6 p.m. start at the West Gym.
Coach
Matt Dernlan's squad is 4-2 entering EIWA action. In its last dual outing, BU nearly knocked off then-#14 North Carolina before falling, 19-12, on November 15. Six Bearcats have double-digit win totals this season, led by
Vincent DePrez with 14 victories.
Anthony DePrez,
Jacob Nicholson,
Steve Schneider,
Steven Bulzomi, and
Jesse Dellavecchia have each won 10 or more contests this season.
Princeton enters Friday with a 2-4 record. It dropped a tight 18-16 decision to Navy on December 11. Jonathan Schliefer led the Tigers with a 15-4 major decision in his 174-pound match.

Jack McKeever is 29
th in the 174-pound division. For Princeton, Brett Harner (197) stands seventh, Schliefer (174) ranks 11
th, Abram Ayala (184) is 16

th, and Ray O'Donnell (285) is 29
th.
Last season, BU came away with a 20-16 win at Princeton.

Vincent DePrez were among the winners for the Bearcats. Then-senior
Tyler Deuel recorded a pin in the heavyweight bout, lifting Binghamton a dramatic road victory.
Binghamton hits the road for six straight matches following Friday's bout. The Bearcats return home on January 31, hosting Sacred Heart.
