VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton men's basketball looks to extend its win streak when the Bearcats (6-4) continue their rivalry with New York State foe Colgate (2-7) on Wednesday. The teams will tip from Cotterell Court at 7 p.m. in Hamilton.

QUICK HITS
•    This is Binghamton's 70th season of basketball, 16th at the Division I level
•    BU has won two in a row after alternating wins and losses in its first nine games

LAST TIME OUT
•    The Bearcats received two big defensive plays in the final 15 seconds to stun host St. Francis 73-70 on Saturday
•    Redshirt junior guard Yosef Yacob (12 pts.) stole a ball at midcourt and his subsequent free throws gave BU its first lead of the second half (71-70) and completed a BU rally from 15 points down in the final 11 minutes
•    Junior forward Bobby Ahearn (19 pts.) took a charge with 5.1 seconds left as Colgate was driving for a potential game-winning shot
•    Redshirt sophomore guard J.C. Show (15 pts.) sank the clinching free throws with 4.4 seconds left to seal the win. Earlier Show nailed a three-pointer with 35 seconds left that pulled BU to within one, 70-69.   

ABOUT COLGATE
•    Colgate has dropped three in a row but is averaging 79 ppg. in that stretch
•    Of the team's seven losses, one was to Syracuse and five have been by seven or fewer points, including two overtime setbacks
•    Team returns four starters and 13 lettermen from a 13-17 team that placed fifth in the Patriot League last season (9-9 in league play)  

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. COLGATE
•    Colgate leads the all-time series 10-3 and has won four of the last five matchups
•    Last December, the host Bearcats used a 20-6 first-half run to pull away early and smothered Colgate into 30 percent shooting in a 69-50 win
•    Marlon Beck scored 10 of his game-high 14 pts. in opening 4:51
•    BU brought a 37-22 lead into half after shooting 50 percent and then a 17-5 run to open the second half put the game on ice

AHEARN NAMED AMERICA EAST PLAYER OF WEEK
Junior forward Bobby Ahearn was selected as America East Player of the Week on Nov. 5 after averaging 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in two Bearcat wins. Ahearn shot a gaudy 75 percent (15-for-20) in the pair of games and then provided the defensive play of the game in BU's comeback win at St. Francis (Pa.). With the Red Flash driving for a potential game-winning bucket, Ahearn stepped up and drew a charge with 5.1 seconds left. The America East honor is the first of his career and he also grabbed BU Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in his three years.

UP NEXT
The Bearcats return home to host Loyola at 2 p.m. on Saturday - following the women's game at noon vs. Columbia. It's the first of two straight Saturday doubleheaders with both teams. Binghamton will play three of its final four non-conference games at home before America East action begins in January.
