VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton men's lacrosse hosts UMBC on Saturday, March 19. The America East opener is scheduled for a 1 p.m. faceoff at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
BU led Delaware, 11-7, before falling to the Blue Hens in overtime last weekend. In the home opener,
Johnny Maher made his first career start at attack, tallying a hat trick and two assists.
Tanner Cosens recorded 12 saves in net.
UMBC picked up its first win of the season on March 12, rallying to take down Marist, 9-8 in overtime. Jack Gannon notched two goals and an assist, while Garrett Hasken scored the game-winning goal six seconds into OT.
Senior
Zach Scaduto leads Binghamton (0-4) with seven goals and three helpers.
Ben Kocis and
Sean Gilroy have registered five goals apiece.
T.J. DiSanto paces the Bearcats with 12 groundballs and three caused turnovers. Cosens has made 42 saves in four starts in goal.
Gannon leads the Retrievers with four goals and six assists this year. Max Maxwell, Billy Nolan, and Ryan Baker have each scored four times in 2016.
BU has beaten UMBC in three of the programs' last five meetings, including a 13-4 win in Baltimore last season.
Tyler Deluca scored four goals and Cosens logged seven saves in the victory.
