VESTAL, N.Y.- Binghamton men's lacrosse travels to #6 UAlbany on Saturday, April 16. The America East contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. faceoff at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
Along with the broadcast on AmericaEast.TV, the match will be aired live on Time Warner Cable (Ch. 23)
BU enters the weekend coming off a 13-12 win over Canisius on Tuesday.
Johnny Maher recorded a goal and four assists,
Zach Scaduto tallied a hat trick and an assist, and
Matthew Kaser notched three goals.
Sam Sanko registered 12 saves in net, improving to 2-0 as the Bearcats' starting goalkeeper this year.
Albany has won five in a row, including a 13-7 home win over Vermont on April 9. The
Great Danes outscored Vermont, 8-0, in the second period. Justin Reh posted a goal and four assists, while Connor Fields scored four goals. Blaze Riorden logged 14 saves in net.
Coach
Scott Nelson's group is 4-6 overall and 2-1 in the America East. Scaduto, a senior, has been tremendous this season, putting up 20 goals and 10 assists.
Ben Kocis has compiled 13 goals and 10 assists, while Maher has contributed 10 goals and 10 helpers.
Dan Mazurek and
Austin Macchi have combined to win 54.2 percent of their faceoffs for BU.
Albany has an 8-2 record, including a 4-0 conference mark. It has won 20 straight America East matches. Fields paces the team with 28 goals and 15 assists. Seth Oakes has scored 27 goals and Reh has totaled 14 goals and 17 assists. Riorden has started all 10 games in goal, allowing 9.1 goals per game.
Last season, the Bearcats hung with Albany throughout their meeting at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Danes held a slim 6-5 halftime margin before eventually winning 15-11. Kocis led Binghamton with four goals in the match.
