Box Score WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team fell, 17-9, at Hartford Saturday afternoon.
Matthew Kaser led the Bearcats with a hat trick in the America East contest at Al-Marzook Field.
The teams engaged in a high-scoring first quarter that featured nine goals. The hosts got on the board first, but BU rallied with consecutive scores.

Joe Licata for a goal to tie it with 12:58 left in the first and then
Johnny Maher gave the Bearcats a 2-1 lead at the 12:16 mark.
Hartford came back with three goals to regain the advantage, but Scaduto made sure Binghamton hung around early. With 2:56 to go in the period, the senior found Kaser for a goal. Scaduto then scored a goal of his own just 38 seconds later, making it 4-all. The Hawks scored with eight seconds to play in the first, taking a 5-4 edge.
The home team claimed an 8-4 margin in the second frame, but Scaduto and Kaser teamed up for another BU goal midway through the quarter. With 6:34 remaining, Scaduto assisted on Kaser's second goal of the day. After a Hawk goal, Licata found the back of the net for the second time, pulling Binghamton within 9-6. Hartford scored again, though, taking a 10-6 halftime lead.
The Hawks scored the first four goals of the second half to go ahead by eight.
Mitchell Rick then scored with 5:25 showing on the clock.
T.J. Tiernan assisted on the play. After a Hartford goal, BU took advantage of a man-up chance late in the third.
Sean Gilroy hit Kaser for the hat trick with 51 seconds left, making it 15-8.
Joe Grossi capped Binghamton's scoring with a goal late in the fourth period, as the Hawks picked up the conference win.
Scaduto led BU with a goal and three assists. Kaser tallied three goals for his second career hat trick and Licata scored twice. Maher collected three groundballs. Dylan Jinks paced Hartford (6-4, 2-1 AE) with two goals and five assists.
BU (2-6, 1-1 AE) hosts UMass Lowell in an America East match on Saturday, April 9. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. faceoff at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
