Binghamton Athletic Department Celebrates Homecoming Weekend

Alumni games, tailgate and three athletic events highlight festivities

VESTAL, N.Y. – With ideal weather conditions serving as a backdrop, the Binghamton Athletic Department held its Homecoming events this past weekend.

A pair of Bearcat teams opened up the weekend with events on Friday night. The volleyball team held its home opener against America East rival Albany at the West Gym while the men's tennis team began its three-day home invitational on Friday afternoon. The crowd of 418 for the volleyball match marked the second-largest paid attendance in program history.

Also on Friday was the fourth annual Alumni Networking Panel at the Events Center. Click here for a complete recap.

Four Bearcat programs held their annual alumni games on Saturday morning. The women's lacrosse, softball, men's lacrosse and men's soccer programs all welcomed back their alumni and gave them a chance to suit up again.

From 3-6 p.m. on Saturday was the ninth annual Homecoming Tailgate in the Events Center Parking Lot. The Varsity Club, which is opens to all former Binghamton athletes, had a tent sent up in front of the Events Center. For more information on the Varsity Club, click here.

Finally, the men's soccer team held its annual Homecoming Game at the Bearcats Sports Complex. A crowd of 1,801 fans – the 10th largest in the history of the facility as well as the biggest attendance since 2012, watched the Bearcats defeat Buffalo 3-0. Even more impressive was that Buffalo had a record of 8-1-0 heading into the match and was receiving votes in both national polls.
