Women's Basketball Begins Second Half of AE Schedule at UMBC

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (10-11, 5-3 AE) beat Maine 58-52 on Saturday to pull into a three-way tie for second place in the America East. Junior guard Imani Watkins netted a game-high 17 points to go along with four assists and three steals. Freshman guard Kai Moon finished with 13 points and Alyssa James pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with six blocks and three steals.

- Junior guard Imani Watkins ranks second in the America East and is No. 39 in the nation with 18.7 points per game. She is also tied for the conference lead with 2.3 steals per contest. Redshirt sophomore guard Jasmine Sina has America East lead and ranks No. 45 in the nation with 2.7 three-point field goals per game. Junior center Alyssa James, meanwhile, is tied for first in the conference with 1.7 blocks per game, is a tied for third in rebounding (6.7 rpg.) and is also third in steals (2.2 spg.).

- UMBC (9-12, 4-4 AE) lost 60-50 at first-place New Hampshire on Saturday. Taylor McCarley, who ranks fourth in the America East with 13.9 points per game, scored a team-best 17 points. For the season, McCarley is also ranked fourth in the conference in assists (4.3 apg.) and is tied with Watkins for the lead in steals (2.3 spg.). 

- Binghamton leads the all-time series 18-11, having won 69-62 at the Events Center back on Jan. 4 in the conference opener. Junior center Alyssa James finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks while freshman guard Carly Boland poured in a career-high 16 points. At UMBC, the Bearcats are 5-8 all time, having last won 66-57 back on Jan. 30, 2013.

- The Bearcats lead the America East and are No. 40 in the nation with 4.9 blocks per game. Binghamton also ranks first in the conference and No. 52 in the nation with 7.5 three-point field goals per game. In addition, it is third in the conference in both scoring (63.2 ppg.) and steals (9.5 spg.). 

- Junior guard Imani Watkins ranks fifth in program history with 1,295 points. She reached the 1,000-point mark against Sacred Heart on Nov. 23. In fourth place all time, with 1,341 career points, is current Binghamton Associate Head Coach Leah Truncale.
