STORY LINES

  • Binghamton (5-6-4, 1-1-2 AE) won 2-1 at Bucknell on Tuesday night as redshirt freshman Kurt Wesch netted the game winner in the 76th minute. Earlier in the match, junior midfielder Harrison Weilbacher scored his first goal of the season. In goal, redshirt freshman Isaiah Pettis made four saves in his first collegiate start.

  • Junior forward Nikos Psarras is fourth in the America East with six goals and is tied for fourth place with 12 total points. Freshman midfielder Noah Luescher is second with five assists and tied for sixth place with 11 total points. As a team, Binghamton ranks third in the conference with 1.643 goals per game. In the current RPI rankings, the Bearcats are No. 88 out of 205 teams.

  • UMass Lowell (6-5-1, 2-2-0 AE) has been off since its 2-1 setback at Vermont last Saturday. Ivan Abramovic got the lone River Hawk goal on a penalty kick in the 54th minute. Jakov Basic leads UMass Lowell with four goals and 10 total points. The River Hawks have a RPI of No. 68.

  • UMass Lowell leads the all-time series 2-1-1 since it joined the America East in 2013. Last season, current junior back Kevin Flesch scored in the 90th minute as the Bearcats gained a 1-1 tie in Lowell. The River Hawks were ranked No 19 at the time of the match (Oct. 1).

  • At the Bearcats Sports Complex, Binghamton defeated UMass Lowell 3-0 in 2013 but lost 1-0 two years later. Both matches took place on Homecoming Weekend.

  • Binghamton and UMass Lowell are separated by just one point in the conference standings. The Bearcats are in sixth place with five points while the River Hawks are in a two-way tie for fourth place with six points. Prior to the start of the season, UMass Lowell was picked to win the America East in the preseason conference poll while Binghamton was picked to finish last (eighth).

  • Wesch and Luescher are two of three Binghamton freshmen to have scored three goals this season. They are joined by freshman forward Jack Muller, the current America East Rookie of the Week.

  • The game against UMass Lowell marks the second and final time that Binghamton will be on ESPN3 at home during the regular season. The Bearcats' 1-1 tie against then No. 16 UMBC on Oct. 7 was the other instance. On the road, Binghamton's 5-1 win at Canisius on Sept. 23 was also on ESPN3.
