Men's Soccer Travels to Vermont

Bearcats and Catamounts kick off Saturday at 1 p.m.







STORY LINES

Binghamton (5-8-3, 1-1-2 AE) lost 2-1 to Hofstra on Wednesday night at home in its final non-conference game of the season. Sophomore forward Haris Brkovic, who ranks second on the team with five goals and 11 total points, scored the Bearcats' goal in the 33rd minute. Junior forward Nikos Psarras leads Binghamton with six goals and 12 total points.

Vermont (9-7-0, 3-1-0 AE) won 3-1 over visiting UMBC last Saturday behind a pair of goals by Justin Freitas. Geo Alvis has team-best nine goals this season while Freitas has six. Alvis has also tallied four assists for a team-high 22 points.

Vermont leads the all-time series 10-6-3, having won both games last season. The Catamounts won 2-0 at the Bearcats Sports Complex last Oct. 22 and rallied for a 2-1 double-overtime win at home in the America East quarterfinals. Nikos Psarras scored the Bearcat goal in the playoff game.

With two conference games left in the season, Binghamton sits in sixth place in the America East standings with five points. The Bearcats trail fifth-place UMBC (seven points) and third-place Albany and UMass Lowell (tied with nine points). Vermont is tied with New Hampshire for first place with 12 points.
