STORY LINES

- Binghamton (13-17 in 2016-17) returns four starters from last year's squad, including preseason all-conference selections Imani Watkins and Alyssa James. The Bearcats, who were picked to finish third in the America East Conference, also return 11 letterwinners. Watkins, who is a senior guard, was named first-team all-conference last season. James, meanwhile, was a second-team pick and repeated as the America East Defensive Player of the Year.

- Army (22-9 in 2016-17) is the preseason favorite to win the Patriot League. The Black Knights are led by junior forward Madison Hovren, the preseason pick as the Patriot League Player of the Year. Also returning is senior guard Aliyah Murray, the reigning conference Defensive Player of the Year.

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against Army 4-1. The Bearcats won the most recent meeting, 57-47 in West Point on Dec. 6, 2011. Binghamton enters the game having taken the past two games in the series.

- Senior forward Alyssa James has 997 points during her collegiate career. She played her freshman year at Caldwell University before transferring to Binghamton prior to the 2014-15 season. She needs just three points to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. 

- Senior guard Imani Watkins enters the 2017-18 season with 1,468 points. That ranks fourth all time in Binghahmton program history and No. 39 all time in the America East. In third place, with the Binghamton program's Division I era record is Andrea Holmes (2008-12), who scored 1,557 points during her career.
