Men's Lacrosse Defeats Siena 10-5

Tom Moore nets four goals and adds three assists

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -  The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (3-1) defeated Siena (0-6) Tuesday afternoon at Siena Turf Field. Tom Moore had seven points for the Bearcats on four goals and three assists.

"We played a good game today although we got off to a slower start than we would've liked to," said Coach McKeown. "We had a couple guys really step up for us today especially attack Tom Moore who had three goals and four assists.  A lot of guys did a good job finishing with the ball in the second half."

Tom Moore put the Bearcats on the board early scoring an unassisted goal with 11:33 remaining in the first period. Moore found Griffin Konen in perfect scoring position at 10:53 to put Binghamton ahead 2-0. The Saints scored their first goal of the game with 5:58 remaining to make the score 2-1.

In the second period, Binghamton held Siena scoreless but added two goals of their own. Joe Licata scored an unassisted goal at 9:25 and Tyler Deluca netted one at 5:42.

Tom Moore had a huge third period for the Bearcats, scoring one goal and assisting on two. Moore scored with 12:48 remaining on an assist from McAndrew before Siena got on the board with their second goal of the game. Moore then assisted Joe Licata on a goal at 2:41 making the score 6-2. Siena quickly answered scoring their third goal at 2:01 before McAndrew ended the period with a goal on a pass from Tom Moore.

The Saints got on the board early in the 4th, scoring back-to-back goals with 13:31 and 12:36 remaining putting them within two. Tom Moore answered with his third and four goals of the game to increase the Bearcats lead. The first at 5:15 off a pass from McAndrew and again at 4:09 on an unassisted goal. Griffin Konen sealed off the victory with the Bearcats 10th goal with 16 seconds remaining.

Senior goalkeeper Tanner Cosens had seven saves and picked up one ground balls and Garrett Waldron picked up three ground balls for the Bearcats. Binghamton had the shot advantage 32-31 and went 1-3 on extra-man opportunities.

Binghamton travels to University of Delaware for another non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
