Men's Lacrosse Travels to #1 Syracuse Saturday

Bearcats and Orange slated to begin at 2 p.m.

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (10-2, 3-2 AE) will travel to #1 Syracuse (10-1, 4-0 ACC) to play at the Carrier Dome on Saturday afternoon. The opening faceoff is set for 2 p.m.

The Bearcats are looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses last week. Binghamton fell to UMBC, 7-6, on Saturday and to Albany, 10-4, on Wednesday night. Prior to the UMBC loss, the Bearcats were ranked #20 and riding the longest win streak in Binghamton Lacrosse history (nine games). Red-shirt senior Tom Moore, who was named to the Tewaaraton watch list, leads the Bearcats in goals (34), assists (24) and points (58). Goal keeper Tanner Cosens sits sixth in the nation in goals-against-average with a 7.66 average. The Bearcats rank seventh in all of Division I in scoring defense (7.75). On Wednesday, defensemen Garrett Waldron held the top scorer in the nation, Albany's Connor Fields, to one goal.

The Orange are looking to increase their current eight-game win streak into the ACC Championship. Most recently, Syracuse topped North Carolina 12-11 in an overtime victory at UNC. The Orange lead the nation in one-goal games and have a 7-1 record in such games. Nick Mariano leads the Cuse with 42 points on 28 goals. Senior Ben Williams has been very successful at the face off X this season winning 120-of-230 tries. He is four career victories away from breaking the Syracuse record.

Syracuse and Binghamton have squared off five times, with the Orange winning all five of the match ups. In 2016, the Bearcats fell to the Orange 13-5 at the Carrier Dome.
