VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (20-8) begins a non-conference weekend series with Central Connecticut State (21-16) on Saturday. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday (9- then 7-inning game) and finish up the series with a nine-game finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Binghamton is coming off a 10-2 loss to Cornell on Wednesday. That loss snapped the team's seven-game win streak. The team was without four regular starters for that game and two starting middle infielders (two of the team's top three hitters) remain injured.
This is the "off" weekend for BU in conference play. Binghamton sits in first place in the America East standings with a 9-2 mark, 2.5 games ahead of second-place UMBC. There are nine conference games remaining.
