VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (8-1, 2-0 AE) hosts Hartford (4-5, 1-1 AE) in a conference matchup on Saturday at 1 pm at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The game will serve as senior day for the Bearcats.
After the best start in program history, the Bearcats are riding a seven-game win streak and were ranked 20th in the Maverik Lacrosse media poll this past week. Binghamton currently ranks fifth in all of Division I in scoring defense (7.44). Senior Tom Moore is third in points per game (5.67) and Tanner Cosens is fifth in goals-against-average (7.52). In their last outing, the Bearcats topped Lafayette 14-8. Moore led Binghamton with four goals and two assists. Binghamton owned the shot advantage 35-19 and won 15-of-27 faceoffs.
Hartford topped Vermont 15-13 last Saturday at Virtue Field in Burlington, Vermont. Griffin Fiener led all scorers with a career-high five goals and two assists en route to becoming the 20th member of Hartford's 100-Point Club. Senior Alec Brown also added three goals and three assists for the Hawks.
Last season, the Hawks topped the Bearcats 17-9. Binghamton leads the all-time series 9-6.
