VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (26-9), winners of five in a row and 13 of its last 15 games, hosts Siena (17-24-2) at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Complex.
The Bearcats are ranked No. 41 in the nation (of 299) in RPI and have the 13th highest win percentage in the country (.743). Binghamton has seven regular season games remaining before the America East tournament. They will clinch the No. 1 seed with just one more conference win. In sight is the program record for wins in a season (31), set in 2010. The Bearcats have a .280 team batting average and a 3.16 pitching ERA, which ranks 14th in the country.

The Saints are coming off a three-game conference sweep of St. Peter's which concluded with an 8-7 win on Monday. The series with the 0-32 Peacocks was the remedy after a seven-game winless streak. Siena sits in 10th place (of 11) in the MAAC but its just two games out of fourth in the tightly-placked standings. They were picked to finish sixth in the preseason poll after going winning 25 games and reaching the MAAC championship game in 2016.
Preseason all-conference selections Jordan Bishop (2B) and Dan Swain (OF) pace the Saints. Head coach Tony Rossi is in his 48th season at the helm and is the longest-tenured current Division I baseball coach in the nation. Second team All-MAAC selection Joe Drpich is hitting .335 with team highs of nine home runs and 39 RBI. Sophomore third baseman Brian Kelly is batting a team-best .353. Bishop is hitting .326 and Swain is at .335 with 31 RBI.
The team is hitting .275 and has a pitching ERA of 5.71.

Binghamton leads the all-time series 11-9. The teams have split the last eight games. Siena won last year's meeting in Loudonville, 8-7. Two years ago, BU won 6-5 in Vestal. Â
