STORY LINES
- Binghamton (21-23) heads into the America East Tournament as the two-time defending regular-season conference champions. The Bearcats are looking to become the first team to sweep both the America East regular season and tournament titles since Boston University in 2012.
- The Bearcats are making their sixth appearance in the America East Tournament, having last won the event in 2015. They are 8-9 all time, having also recorded third-place finishes in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
- Binghamton is hosting the America East Tournament for the third time in program history. Last year, the Bearcats earned the role by virtue of its regular-season title. In 2013, despite finishing second during the regular season, the Bearcats were the host program when top-seeded Albany deferred.Â
- The Bearcats are led by four newly-minted  first-team all-conference selections. Junior outfielder
Jessica Rutherford ranks fourth in the America East with a .362 batting average while junior third baseman
Kate Richard is second with 12 home runs and first with 46 RBI. Junior second baseman
Stephanie Bielec is batting a career-high .338 while senior designated player
Gabby Bracchi ranks second in the America East with 16 stolen bases.
- On the mound, the Bearcats have a trio of pitchers, all of whom have starting role. Freshman
Rayn Gibson was named second-team all-conference and was joined by fellow freshman pitcher
Rozlyn Price on the All-Rookie Team. Senior pitcher
Shelby Donhauser, meanwhile, was the America East Pitcher of the Week on April 25.Â
