Bearcats and Retrievers kick off at 7 p.m. on Saturday

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (3-9-2, 2-2-0 AE) and UMBC (7-4-2, 2-2-0 AE) are part of a five-way tie for second place in the America East standings. Stony Brook is in first place with a perfect 4-0-0 mark while New Hampshire, Vermont and UMass Lowell are also part of the logjam at 2-2-0.

- The Bearcats were defeated 2-1 by Bucknell on Tuesday in their final non-conference game of the season. Senior midfielder Connor McKnight, who is tied for the team lead with three goals, scored in the 86th minute against the Bison to prevent the shutout.

- Sophomore midfielder Noah Luescher leads the Bearcats with 10 total points. He is tied with McKnight and junior forward Haris Brkovic with three goals and has a team-best four assists.

- Unbeaten in its past four games, UMBC beat Villanova 2-1 in overtime at home on Tuesday night. Nick Gumbs netted the game-winner in the first sudden-death period.

- Cesare Marconi leads UMBC with 12 points on a team-best four goals and four assists. Four other Retrievers have scored twice so far this season.

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against UMBC 8-6-4. Last season, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 7 at the Bearcats' annual Homecoming Game. Binghamton is 2-0-1 against UMBC in its past three meetings as well as 2-1-2 since 2013.

- In terms of common America East opponents, both Binghamton and UMBC defeated Hartford earlier this season. The Bearcats defeated New Hampshire, while UMBC lost to the Wildcats. The opposite was true, however, against UMass Lowell – a team the Retrievers defeated while the Bearcats lost.
