Flesch, Luescher and Sullivan receive end-of-the-year accolades

VESTAL, N.Y. – Graduate student defender Kevin Flesch has been named second-team all-conference as well as all-academic by the America East Conference for the 2018 men's soccer  season. In addition, sophomore midfielder Noah Luescher joined Flesch on the All-Academic Team and freshman back Aidan Sullivan was named to the conference's All-Rookie Team.

"We are delighted for all of these players," head coach Paul Marco said. "Each of them did a lot for the team this year. Kevin has had a great career here and we are looking forward to Noah and Aidan coming back next season."

Flesch, who has been this year's captain, makes his first appearance on an all-conference team. It also marks the second year in a row he has earned All-Academic honors, which requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 in addition to being a regular starter. Flesch is the first Bearcat to earn All-Academic honors twice since Ryan Walter was chosen in 2010 and 2011.

Luescher, who finished the season with three goals, four assists and 10 total points, makes his first appearance on the All-Academic Team. The 2017 America East Rookie of the Year, he was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week this past Oct. 1.

This marks the first time since 2010 that Binghamton has posted at least two All-Academic selections.

Sullivan, meanwhile, earned a starting role in the backfield in his freshman season.
