Women's Lacrosse set for America East semifinals

The Bearcats face the Great Dane on Friday at 7 p.m.

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (8-8, 5-2 AE) is headed to Long Island on May 4-6 for the America East Championships for the first time in program history. The Bearcats will square off against the Great Danes on May 4 at 7 p.m. in the second semifinal game of the tournament at La Valle Stadium.

  • This is the second time this season Binghamton will compete against Albany on the road
  • The Bearcats fell 12-10 in the first matchup against the Great Danes
  • Senior Brianne Arthur and junior Rebecca Golderman tied for a game-high three goals in the contest
  • Binghamton outscored Albany 6-4 in the second half of play
  • Albany has won all 17 meetings between the two programs

Scouting the Bearcats
 
  • Binghamton is most recently coming off the program's first victory over the University of New Hampshire this past Saturday
  • The Bearcats beat the Wildcats 13-7 to clinch the No. 3 seed in the AE tournament
  • Senior Jacqueline Kennedy recorded three caused turnovers in the game and now holds the career record for caused turnovers with 77
  • Arthur has now had back-to-back showings scoring a game-high five goals
  • Arthur has a team-high 42 goals this season, just three away from breaking the single season record for goals which is held by Golderman with 44 (2016-17)
  • Kennedy sits second in the NCAA and first in the America East with 3.00 caused turnovers per game

Scouting the Great Danes
 
  • Albany is coming off a 21-8 loss to Stony Brook this past weekend
  • The Great Danes have won eight of their last nine contests
  • Albany has only given up double digit goals twice this season, once to Binghamton (12-10) and the second to Stony Brook (21-8)
  • Albany has made it to the America East Championship the past seven consecutive seasons
  • Emma Powlin leads the offense with 43 goals and 57 points
  • Sam Tortora is first on the team with 28 assists
  • Kendra Harbinger controls the draw, registering 52 so far this season
