Men's Soccer hosts Iona in home opener

Bearcats and Gaels kick off Tuesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (0-1-0) lost 3-2 at Drexel on Friday night in its season opener. The Bearacts fell behind 3-0 after just 13 minutes before junior forward Haris Brkovic and senior midfielder Connor McKnight scored first-half goals. Sophomore midfielder Noah Luescher, the 2017 America East Rookie of the Year, assisted on the first goal.

- Iona (0-0-1) played to a 1-1 draw at LIU-Brooklyn on Friday night. Mauro Bravo scored the game-tying goal in the 80th minute of regulation on a free kick. In 2017, the Gaels went 5-7-4 and placed sixth in the MAAC.

- Binghamton has yet to square off against Iona in men's soccer. The Gaels are the second straight first-time opponent the Bearcats have played this season.

-The Bearcats have won their past three home openers. Binghamton beat Manhattan 1-0 in 2015, Canisius 2-1 in 2016 and George Washington 4-0 last season. Since 2013, the Bearcats are 4-1-0 in home openers.
