VESTAL, N.Y. – Freshman back Jona Meiner has been named to the America East All-Rookie Team. The announcement was made on Friday morning as the 2026 men's soccer all-conference teams were unveiled.

In his rookie season, Meiner started 14 matches in the backfield for the Bearcats. He was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Oct. 12. In his signature performance, Meiner scored the opening goal during the Bearcats' 2-1 win over UMass Lowell on Oct. 10.

"We're really proud of Jona for earning All-Rookie Team recognition," head coach Tommy Moon said. "He came in as a freshman and embraced the challenges of competing at this level, showing maturity, consistency, and a willingness to learn and improve throughout the season. Playing as a left back at this level requires a great deal of athleticism, technical ability, and a strong understanding of the game, and he demonstrated those qualities throughout the year. This is a well-deserved recognition and a great foundation for what we believe will be a very bright future here at Binghamton."

Binghamton (2-8-6) is the No. 6 seed in the America East Tournament. The Bearcats travel to No. 3 Bryant for a 6 p.m. match on Saturday.
