VESTAL, N.Y. - Women's soccer senior forward
Kayla Saager has been named the America East Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It's Saager's first weekly honor of the season and fourth in her two-year career with the Bearcats.
Saager tallied two goals in BU's 1-1 week. She scored the team's lone goal in its 2-1 loss at Army on Friday and then struck for the game-winning goal in the Bearcats' 1-0 victory over Iona on Sunday. In that game, she rifled a left-footed blast to the top netting in the 74th minute to give Binghamton (2-1-1) a 1-0 margin.
She leads the team with three goals and eight points in four games. Saager currently leads the America East and ranks 21st in the nation in points.Â
Binghamton returns to action this Friday with an away game at St. Francis (Pa.).
