Men’s Soccer Hosts Cornell

Bearcats and Big Red kick off Friday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (0-2-0) lost 1-0 in overtime to Iona in its home opener on Tuesday night. Through two matches so far this season, senior midfielder Connor McKnight and junior forward Haris Brkovic lead the Bearcats with a goal each. Sophomore midfielder Noah Luescher has one assist.

- Cornell (0-0-0) kicks off its 2018 season after going 7-8-2 last year. Tommy Hansen scored a team-best five goals for the Big Red last season while George Pedlow had three goals and an assist.

- Cornell leads the all-time series 6-4-1, having taken a 3-2 decision in Ithaca last Sept. 26. Brkovic scored both of the Bearcat goals. In the last meeting at the Bearcats Sports Complex, the two squads played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 14, 2016. Binghamton's last win in the series was a 1-0 road triumph on Sept. 15, 2015.

- After surrendering three goals in the opening 13 minutes against Drexel last year, redshirt junior goalkeeper Chris Shutler has allowed only one goal in the ensuing 174 minutes of play. That goal came when the Bearcats were a man down against Iona on Tuesday night.
