Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Home to Hobart 16-7

Konen and Tiernan score twice, Goalies combine for 23 saves

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (0-3) fell at home to Hobart (3-1), 16-7 Saturday afternoon. T.J. Tiernan and Griffin Konen led the Bearcats with 2 goals each, while Martin and Carbone combined for 23 saves in the net.

"Hobart is a good team," head coach Kevin McKeown said. "I thought we did a good job in the first half getting some stops on defense to generate some good offensive possessions for us. Rob Martin had a great first half in the net which held us in there a little bit. I think we got away from our fundamentals in the second half, so we just need to continue to believe in what we do and believing in our fundamentals and keep getting better in practice every week."

Highlights
  • Hobart got on the board first at 13:27
  • The Bearcats responded with three unanswered goals from three different players (Joe Licata, T.J. Tiernan and Griffin Konen)
  • Hobart went on a 4-0 run before John Perotto clawed a goal back for Binghamton to make the score 5-4 at the half
  • Robert Martin made 10 saves in net for Binghamton before the goalie switch at halftime
  • Hobart scored 7 of the 8 third quarter goals to pull away 12-5
  • Sean Makar and T.J. Tiernan (2) also scored for the Bearcats in the fourth quarter
