Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Delaware, 10-6

Konen and Tiernan score twice, Martin makes 8 saves

NEWARK, D.E. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (0-4) lost 10-6 on the road at Delaware (6-2) Saturday afternoon. Griffin Konen scored 2 goals and picked up 2 ground balls. T.J. Tiernan also scored twice for the Bearcats. .
 

"I think we took a step in the right direction today but it wasn't a big enough one to beat a team like Delaware," head coach Kevin McKeown said. "We got away from our fundamentals in some key moments; we need to execute at a higher level to beat what is now a 6-1 team."

  • The Bearcats kept it close early as they battled back from a 3-1 deficit to tie the game at 3-3 with goals from Konen and Joe Licata
  • Konen has scored 2 goals in each game this season
  • With Konen scoring twice and Licata also adding a goal, they are tied for the team lead with 8 goals apiece
  • Senior Captain Tim Mattiace led the team in caused turnovers, with 3, and picked up two ground balls
