STORY LINES
- Binghamton (8-12) dropped two out of three games this past weekend at Winthrop to wrap up its 11-game Spring Break trip. Sophomore
Marissa Braito, who leads the team with a .344 batting average, led the Bearcats with a .450 batting average (9-for-20) against the Eagles. Sophomore third baseman
Sarah Benn finished the series 4-for-9 (.444) while Guay hit .429 (3-for-7) with two home runs and five RBI. Guay also drew four walks to finish with a .636 on-base percentage.
- Braito currently ranks eighth in the America East in batting and third with a .474 on-base percentage. She is also tied for fourth with 12 runs scored and is second with three triples. Guay is tied for fifth in the conference with 13 RBI and is tied for fourth with five doubles.
- On the mound, junior
Rayn Gibson is second in the America East with 47 strikeouts and is tied for second with four wins. Sophomore
Chelsea Howard is tied for first with a pair of saves.
- Cornell (3-14) took two out of three games from Brown in its Ivy League weekend series. Allison Kerce leads the Big Red with a .320 batting average and three home runs. She is also tied with Bridgette Rooney for the team lead with 12 RBI.
- Cornell leads the all-time series 13-9 but the Bearcats won last season's game 4-2 in 12 innings on the road. Binghamton has won four straight games against the Big Red, dating back to April 28, 2015.
- Binghamton begins its seventh season with the Bearcats Sports Complex Softball Facility as its home field. Since its first game on March 30, 2013, the Bearcats are 48-28 all time at home. During that stretch, Binghamton has hosted the America East Tournament four times (2013, 2015, 2016 & 2018).
