VESTAL, N.Y. -- The Binghamton University men's soccer program hosted a youth Lockheed Martin soccer clinic at the Bearcats Sports Complex this past weekend for children of Lockheed Martin's staff and employees.
Over 20 boys and girls, ages five thru 12, participated in shooting, passing and dribbling skill drills ending with several spirited, exciting scrimmages.
Head coach
Paul Marco with his staff along with their student-athletes served as the volunteer clinicians in leading all of the on-the-filed exercises and drills.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to offer this clinic to Lockheed Martin families and children," said Binghamton University Assistant Athletic Director
Brian Jester, who manages the athletic department's Corporate Partnerships. "Our men's soccer program pride themselves on being active, positive role models within our community while also helping grow the game of soccer with young children in the area. This clinic accomplished both of those goals, while also providing kids with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the same field the Bearcats train and compete on. The opportunity to interact with our student-athletes was a tremendous success and we look forward to continuing this great program in the future with Lockheed Martin"
The Bearcats open their home season on Friday, August 30th at the Bearcats Sports Complex hosting Drexel University at 7:00 pm.
Lockheed Martin is a proud corporate partner with the Binghamton University athletics department.
